History

The Capitol of Hawaii is Honolulu located on the island of Oahu. A city with a whopping 900,000 people within 5 miles radius of the National Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl or Pu’owaina. Within the city there are many fascinating sites to include Honolulu Harbor, Iolani Palace, Hawaii’s State Capitol, Kamehameha Statue, National Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl, China Town, Waikiki, Diamond head and more. Hawaii’s demographics, growth has been impacted by war, by agriculture, by the Monarchy, by Manifest Destiny, and by movies. Each place or building has a story to tell, and visiting them allows us to unlock the past.

On the East Side of Oahu you will find breathtaking sea views and beaches. The geology of the area is fascinating! Two extinct tephra or tuff volcanos, Kohelepelepe and Koko Head, are the last know volcanic activity on Oahu. Koko head is home to Hanauma Bay a popular snorkeling destination, Kohelepelepe is home to a city run botanical gardens and an equestrian center. Over 30,000 years the oceans and weather has shaped the base of these mountains and provides one of the most breathtaking drives on Oahu. Just around the corner you will find Makapu’u light house home to the largest Hyperradiant Fresnel lens, and Waimanalo. Waimanalo is tucked away at the base of the Ko’olau mountain rage. Cliffs that reach hights of over 3,000 feet. These towering cliffs formed when half of the island feel into the ocean over 180,000 years ago, which cause a 4000 foot tsunami that washed helped formed the majority of the valles on the island.
